Wasco High School Centennial Celebration 1915 - 2015
Our alma mater Wasco High will be 100 years old in 2015. There will be a great weekend celebration the second weekend in October of 2015 to include a Friday night football game including an on campus catered dinner next to the new Heritage Hall, a Saturday on campus all class lunch and campus tours, and individual decade reunions Saturday night.
Here are some initial planning details for you to consider as you begin to plan your Decade Reunions for that Saturday evening and maybe Sunday if you choose:
For the Saturday night Decade Reunion events - all individual classes will be grouped together by decades such as the 1930's and 1940's together in one Decade Reunion event, then the 1950's Decade, the 1960's, 1970's 1980's and 1990's as individual Decade Reunion events, and then most likely 2000 to 2015 all together in their own Reunion event.
Be thinking of forming your Decade Reunion committee and how you would want to do your own meetings, planning and mailings to each individual class within your decade and how you will want to handle the money for your own reunion event.
The decade years as an example for the 1960's Decade Reunion would be the years 1960 through and including 1969, not 1961 through 1970.
You will need to have a place to have your Decade Reunion that Saturday night - a place which will hold all of your ten individual classes, so be thinking about where this location might be.
We have not decided how to handle the money needing to be paid for the football game entrance, the catered dinner, or the Saturday on campus lunch. Details about this will follow later. You will though be responsible for the money for your own Decade Reunion events as that money will be paid direct to your committee.
We will not have a Centennial Reunion book covering all the graduates and contact information like we did for the 2000 Reunion. We will, though take lots of pictures, videos and do video interviews of the older graduates which will be posted on this website for all to see from here on out. You may organize and produce your own Decade Reunion book if you want, but we will not have an all graduate information book.
